Wisdom's Way Cottage School of Spencer County
grades 9-12
Wisdom's Way Academy Cottage School is designed to offer individualized teaching to high school homeschoolers. We offer small classes as an alternative to schooling completely at home, while at the same time giving the parents and students freedom in scheduling and home life the rest of the week. Wisdom's Way is also an alternative to high-pressure text/test oriented programs. We promote excellence in learning within a small classroom community. Unique to our cottage school is that we offer specialized help to students struggling with Dyslexia and other processing issues.
We are offering:
- Two English and Literature levels, dependent on ability and reading and comprehension ability.
- A reading/comp. test will be required as part of registration process
- Totally Terrified Math and Pre-Algebra
- Algebra I - (placement test required)
- High School Composition-this will not be divided, as writing is so individualized.
- Experiential Art History
- American History/Geography - integrated with Bible and appropriate period literature
- Government and Economics (one semester each)
- Intro. to Psychology from a Christian perspective-actually this is closer to human development, counseling, human relationships and is a very good course for anyone desiring to go into the ministry field, counseling, any area working with people!)
Classes will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Mondays: Life Skills, Math, English, High School Essay and Compostion, Gov't/Economics
Tuesdays: Life Skills, Am. History, Geography, Intro. to Psychology, Experiential Art History
Thursdays:Tutor/Study Hall - no extra charge for class, but we must have six students.
Class size is limited to insure individual attention. All classes are dependant on enrollment, classes with less than 5 students may be subject to cancellation

Life Skills
The foundation for this course will be a Christian World view, and will also include staying away from a lifestyle of debt, creative planning for future career/life work, Bible Study focused on character development as it pertains to young adults going to college, work, and or marriage, goal setting, discovering your spiritual gifts and interests, and more.
Algebra Placement
I have the Algebra Placement test for the coming fall classes. If you are interested in attending the Taylorsville cottage classes, and want to do Algebra I, you must take a placement test.
Please email me privately and I will send it to you. There is an address on the bottom to mail the completed test.
If your student is not ready for Algebra I, remember that we are doing a "Totally Terrified of Math Pre-Algebra class that will cover a review and practice of all the basic operations and slowly go into the basics of Algebra. This is a super class!
