January 2010 Science Fair
HFHG is sponsoring a science fair on January 19, 2010. Since we will be following the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (IISEF) rules we will have an informational meeting on August 17 from 4:30-5:30 pm at the Jeffersontown library. Tina Gibson, co-director of the Louisville Regional Science Fair, will be there to answer any questions about the IISEF rules, how to pick a topic, etc. We will also have a science fair packet to give to students who are interested in participating in this year’s fair.
The science fair is for students in grades K-12, however, only winners in the middle and high school grades will be able to advance to the Louisville Regional Science Fair which will be held in March 2010. High school students who win at the LRSF are allowed to advance to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Winners at these fairs are awarded monetary prizes which can include full tuition to various colleges and universities.
