Nurserywill beprovided for families with school-aged homeschooled children.
Toddlerclasses will be provided for families with school-aged homeschooled children, and will include a schedule for the day with craft time, activities, stories, play time, etc.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS(Alphabetical order)
Alphabet Crafts – PreK – Gartner/Ford
In this class we will making crafts and foods that will help re-enforce the letters and colors that the students will be learning in "Handwriting Without Tears."
Animals – Ulaszek – (2nd-3rd)
My class will be teaching about pets/animals. What pet is right for you, the cost and commitment to each pet, proper care, kindness and safety, stats on animals, animal shelters, breeding, things you can do in your community to help homeless pets,(we will make cat houses) discussions on why we should or should not bring home that otherwise wild animal, I will be bringing in some animals to make it fun. (please inform us at registration if the child has allergies to pet dander)
Autumn and Fall (K-2nd) – Vonkalben
I plan on incorporating a little of everything: Math, Science, Literature, Art/Crafts, and maybe a little History (Thanksgiving - near the end of the 8 weeks). (We will not be studying Halloween.)
Bernstein Bears Class II (K-1) – Hack
Come with us as we learn about life lessons along with the Bernstein Bear siblings.
Bible Stories in Picture- (1st-3rd) -Ma-maw Howlett
This class will illustrate Bible Stories as they are read to them. I plan to use obscure stories rather than the ones most people are aware of. The children will draw the story and we will make a booklet of their drawings for them to take home at the end of co-op.
Biblical World View By Topics– (4th-8th) – Ma-maw Howlett
We will learn God's perspective on several topics as we study the Bible. The student will come to understand that God has a plan regarding all areas of life in His Word. Each student must bring their Bible for this class. They will compile a booklet of their topical studies to take home at the end of co-op.
Chocolate Challenge – (Amanda Bennet – study) (K-1st) – Goodyear
Delve into science discoveries, such as learning about how chocolate comes from a bean pod—that makes it a vegetable, right? Develop an understanding of the basics of how chocolate is made and where it comes from. Learn about rainforests and the ancient Maya and Aztec uses of chocolate. Research the amazing stories of some of the world's foremost chocolatiers!
Class Fee:$5
Chorus – (3rd-6th) – Cordell
The primary goal for our first chorus class is to learn to sing well, blend well, and sing in harmony through rounds. Our secondary goal is to begin to read music and sing in two parts. Students need to be able to read words well. We may also do some folk dances.
Creative Praise II – (4th-5th) – Elfgen
This class will combine art, dance and music. The students will be learning to sing and dance to the glory of God.
Dinosaurs A Biblical Approach– (K-1st) Ford/Gartner
In this class we will be exploring whether or not dinosaurs really lived "millions" of years ago (versus only a few thousand). We will also discuss if there were dinosaurs on the ark, as well as what happened to the dinosaurs. All claims will be founded on and supported by Scripture.
Drawing for Fun – (2nd-3rd) – Elfgen
Strictly for fun!!!
Farm Animals – (PreK) – Trunnell
We will be studying all those animals that go “Moo”, “Neigh”, “Cluck”, “Quack”, “Ba” among others with hands on activities, stories, and crafts.
Forensic Science – (6th-8th) – Matherly/Gates
Learn how to answer that question, “Who Done It?” as we explore criminal science investigation techniques like fingerprinting, blood splatter, and so much more. We will be working through the book Crime Scene Investigations: Real-Life Science Labs For Grades 6-12. Highly recommended but not a requirement.
Geography – KY (6th-8th) – Davenport
mapping, notebooking facts, fun facts
Homework required--pick something from a list to present to the class ie. famous person, landmark, etc.
For an additional element of fun we will be tasting food from each state. Families pick ONE state and
provide ONE dish on the day we study that state. I have recipes from Eat Your Way Through the USA
(main, side and dessert). Some states have foods they are known for: apples, peanuts, ice cream, etc.--so
that's another option. List of allergies required.
Need: 3 ring binder (thin is fine), pencil, color pencils, paper
Handwriting w/o Tears (PreK) – Gartner/Ford
Get Set for School™ is a workbook for four-year-olds or older students working at a Pre-K level learning their letters and how to write them.
Class Fee: $5 – covers the workbook to be used both semesters
Health – (K-1st) – Dana McDonald
We will be discussing the importance of the Basic Food Groups (food pyramid), where food comes from, Dental care, Hand Hygiene, staying healthy, exercise/activity, visiting the doctor for routine check-ups and etc.
How Things Work – (4th-5th) – Davenport
We will be checking out bikes, food, clothes, cars, etc.
Ireland – (4th-5th) – Ford/Gartner
Most children will probably think about shamrocks and leprechauns when they hear the name Ireland. However, it is so much more than that. In this class we will learn about Ireland's history, culture, music, animals of Ireland, and even have a real Irish tea. We will be creating a book to keep full of our memories and discussions as we explore Ireland.
Class Fee: $2
Junior Achievement – Biz Town – (6th-8th) – Matherly
Goals for this class are for the student to: 1) Have a basic understanding of the free enterprise system 2) Build money management skills and of basic business practices and responsibilities 3) Be able to discuss their roles as citizens 4) Understand the importance of nonprofit organizations 5) Understand the importance of citizen rights and responsibilities in a community. 6) And so much more
A non-co-op day (tbd) is required in the Spring as students gather to experience Biz Town at the Junior Achievement office. JA BizTown is a program where students explore the world of business in a mini-city consisting of 12 public and private enterprises. The students become citizens of the simulated community and are employed in one of the 12 businesses. The program runs for approximately 4 hours
This is a two-semester course. Purchase of the book is required. (check out more at www.JuniorAchievement.com)

Junior Achievement –– (2nd-3rd) – TBD
This is a Junior Achievement program that studies careers, the skills people need to work in specific areas, and how businesses contribute to a city. Great hands-on activities will help the students learn about zoning, city planning, they will make a “restaurant”, learn how to promote it, and learn how banks are important to a city.
Karate – (K-8th) – Anthony Reeser/Assistant
Mr. Reeser from Shaolin Kempo School of Martial Arts, in Shepherdsville, has agreed to come back and lead the Karate class. He can take beginners, or students that have had some training before. There is a minimum of 10 students.
Class Fee: $20 per student for the semester
Map Class – (2nd-3rd) – Julie Howlett
Students are transported to the quaint township of Sycamore Glade where we will meet many of the towns residents and share in their adventures. Through the stories, and other activities, students will learn cardinal directions (N, S, E, W), intermediate directions (NE, NW, SE, SW), and what a cardinal rose is.
Native Americans (1st-3rd) – Green
We will learn about the eight Native American tribes.
PE – (PreK) – Smith
Students will be actively involved in individual games, cooperative group activities, basic sports and and learn more about physical fitness.
Princess and a Kiss by Jennie Bishop – Girls only (4th-5th) – Brown
With Princess and a Kiss, your child will be building a godly heritage with short, practical, life-changing studies and activities. We will be learning about purity, relationships, and God's plans for our lives in a non-threatening and age-appropriate way.
Public Speaking – (5th-8th) – Julie Howlett
In this class, we will not focus as much on writing speeches, but mainly speaking in public. We will learn about the 4 types of presentations (informative, instructional, persuasive, and demonstrative) and practice each type. Students will present to their peers, and we will practice some constructive criticism.
Science – Physics – (6th-8th) – TBD
Forces and Motion – from high speed jets to wind up toys…learning basic physic concepts by using things from around the house. This is a two semester course.
Class Fee: $11 – includes student journal ($3) and text ($8). Text can be shared with multiple children in the same family. Books will be purchased and distributed by co-op. Books will be used in the Spring as well.
Sound and Wind – (K-1st) – Harrison
This will be an introductory science course. We will learn about sound and wind. We will have fun conducting our own experiments.
The Squire and the Scroll – Boys only (4th-5th) – Mr. Harrison/Mr. Ulaszek
A class to teach young boys the high calling of being a man. It stresses that men are called to be like knights of purity and integrity. It stresses the Lordship of Jesus. It warns of the pitfalls and dangers that can derail you from the purpose that God has called you to in life. Anyone can be a male but God wants to make you a man.by Jeannie Bishop with Susan Henson. – ($5 fee to cover cost of the book)
Volcanoes(K-1st)- Laura Green
We will be exploring volcanoes: the main parts, types of lava, and the states of the volcano, for example. We will also build our own volcano and watch it erupt
